Job Summary

This Mobile Software Developer will work in the Central IT department to design, implement and maintain various types of mobile solution. This Developer will need to meet with the users to understand the business requirements and translate into the system design. The developer will create a mark up/wireframes with creative design and review with the users. Among completion of UI design, the developer will work with other developers to define and design the API services and implement the front end module using a API collaboration platform tool. In addition, the developer will work as a part of a cross functional team of developers, researchers, and system/database administrators to define, implement and convert the existing and new applications to a mobile solution.
Currently, all team members are working remotely, with the expectation that once COVID restrictions are lifted, team members will meet onsite once a month or as needed.

  • Create compelling mobile device-specific user interfaces
  • Design, implement, test, and release the mobile applications
  • Create self-contained, reusable, and testable modules
  • Review and discuss the business requirements and proposed solution with colleagues, project manager, and users
  • Create markup/wireframes, prototype, and write design documentation
  • Deliver timely and high-quality output

Central IT provides infrastructure, network, security, analytics, integration, and application support services and is essential to the institution’s ability to support growth, mitigate security risk, and manage, store and share sensitive information

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • 5 years working experience on mobile platform
  • Minimum 5+ years of related experience
  • 3+ years of working experience on developing hybrid Mobile Applications for Android and IOS using React Native, Ionic and Xamarin, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of Android and iOS platforms
  • Experience with RESTful APIs to connect iOS and Android applications to back-end services
  • Experience to create rapid UI prototype for Android and iOS using Figma or other prototyping tools
  • Deep understanding of the Mobile Application Security best practices
  • Experience with SSO integration and API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, and Apigee
  • Strong object-oriented design, programming, and complex problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans
  • Advanced experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms
  • Proficient use of Git
  • Experience developing and executing complex test plans
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
  • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent project leadership and management skills
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Experience with MuleSoft
