About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MicroStrategy Architect to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the MicroStrategy solution. You will have expertise in both platform administration and architecture and will be instrumental in driving the success of our reporting and analytical initiatives. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Solution Design: Designing scalable and efficient Microstrategy solutions by collaborating with the data engagement team, analysts, and developers to understand business requirements and translate them into effective schema, report, and dashboard designs.
  • Microstrategy Implementation: Leading the implementation and configuration of Microstrategy platform components, including metadata objects, database connections, security models, and project setup.
  • Performance Optimisation: Identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in Microstrategy reports, dashboards, and queries through performance tuning activities for optimal system response times and resource utilisation.

Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for an experienced MicroStrategy Architect with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.  You are an excellent communicator and can draw on your interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.  You have the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet project deadlines.

You will also have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology, Business, or a relevant discipline, combined with extensive management experience in a large and complex organisation, or an equivalent mix of education and significant relevant experience. 
  • Proven experience as a Microstrategy Architect or similar role, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Microstrategy platform. 
  • Strong knowledge of Microstrategy architecture, including the Microstrategy Developer, Web, Mobile, and Intelligence Server components. 
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modelling.

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.

The Operational Performance Group delivers functions that facilitate the design, evaluation, and improvement of services across the University, and business partnering services to Chancellery. A key component of this group is the University Decision Support team in which this role is located.
