Medication Management Specialist

The Medication Management Specialist functions within the OSU College of Pharmacy Medication Management Program (MMP), a pharmacist run call center focused on delivering innovative medication therapy management services. This telepharmacy program contracts with Medicare programs and commercial insurers directly to focus on optimizing treatment outcomes by enhancing medication adherence, safety and treatment options, and reducing costs. The program primarily focuses on providing medication therapy management services to patients with chronic disease, including but not limited to asthma, diabetes, COPD, CHF, hypertension and dyslipidemia. The Medication Management Specialist should function to the highest of their ability to perform the various tasks at hand.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Pharmacy degree or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy and licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio required; Successful completions of a background check and fingerprint clearance required.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience delivering medication therapy management services in a telephonic setting; Completion of accredited ambulatory care or community pharmacy residency program OR equivalent experience; Experience in geriatrics; Multilingual; Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

Job Posting Salary Range: $101,000 – $123,000

By the start of employment, all newly hired employees must receive at least the first dose of a two-dose series or a single dose of a one-dose series COVID-19 vaccination. Individuals who choose a two-dose series vaccination must receive the second dose within 45 days of their start date. Proof of vaccination will be required at time of hire.

 

Candidates may request a medical or religious exemption from the vaccination requirement. Campus employees may also request an exemption for personal reasons. Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, College of Medicine or OSUP Employees are not eligible for personal exemptions. All exemptions are subject to Ohio State’s approval and subject to change, including revocation, due to legal and regulatory requirements.
