As one of Worcester’s largest healthcare organizations over 380 employees, NDHC provides long term/skilled rehab care, residential assisted living care, and adult/pediatric hospice and palliative care services within Central Massachusetts.Position Overview:The Unit Secretary is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the nursing staff and management team within the Notre Dame Long Term and Skilled Rehabilitation facilities Skilled Rehabilitation department. This position ensures efficient and smooth operations within the unit by handling patient records, scheduling, communication, and assisting with various office tasks.Key Responsibilities:· Answer phones, screen calls, and direct them appropriately.· Type, file, and organize documents, as necessary.· Assist with scheduling appointments, tests, and procedures for residents.· Ensure that patient admissions, discharges, and transfers are processed smoothly.· Accurately scan and upload documents into the electronic health records (EHR) system.
· Monitor office supplies and order replacements as needed to ensure the unit has necessary materials.Minimum 2-5 years administrative/receptionist experience within a healthcare facility is required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification in medical office administration or related field is preferred. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Word. Computer proficiency using Microsoft Excel is preferred. Proficient in using office equipment (phone systems, fax machines, photocopiers) and computers required. Prior experience using electronic health records (HER) is preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing home, hospital, or assisted living facility preferred.Skills:· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.· Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.· Requires interaction with staff, residents, and visitors in a fast-paced setting.PM17PIb048e3016aa1-8722-37474664 Worcester, MA
