Organizational Unit Overview The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine, one of only four academic Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine programs in North Carolina offering a three-year fellowship, has a broad-based faculty with interests and expertise in all aspects of the specialty including, outpatient consultative care, Medical Critical Care, and all procedural aspects of the specialty, including interventional pulmonology and medical thoracoscopy.
Job Duties This position will perform complete pulmonary function tests (spirometry, DLCO, and lung volumes), 6 minute walk, bronchial challenges, cardio-pulmonary stress tests, assist with bronchoscopy, cleaning the bronchoscopy equipment, ordering supplies for the pulmonary lab and bronchoscopy lab. This employee will perform routine care of PFT equipment and lab QC documentation. This employee will have the responsibility of maintaining a full functioning pulmonary lab in the outpatient clinic at Moye Medical. In addition this employee will provide tracheostomy care and have a working knowledge of portable ventilators.

The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as it’s teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU Health.
Minimum Education/Experience Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the therapeutic specialty area to which assigned. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licensure in speech pathology, audiology, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other fields. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
