Your Opportunity:

The Edmonton Zone MRT Clinical Education Team is looking for a highly motivated, confident, and enthusiastic technologist with a positive attitude to join our team. As a Medical Radiation Technologist II – Clinical Educator you will be responsible for providing training, leadership, and guidance to MRT students in the clinical environment. In collaboration with the Education Coordinator and NAIT representatives, you will support student education and contribute positively to the overall student clinical experience. You will liaise with technological and management staff at the sites to facilitate a collaborative learning environment. In addition, you will plan, implement and/or support preceptor training and staff education activities. This multi-site position will support and positively impact the Edmonton Zone DI education program, as well as provincial DI education. The MRT educational program includes Computed Tomography as part of it’s competency profile, CT rotations may be part of the position.

Description:

As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) II, you will perform specialized technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You may perform specialized diagnostic imaging procedures for Physician/Radiologist review, interpret physician requisitions and assist with the care and maintenance of imaging equipment.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years as a technologist. Understanding of the CAMRT competency profile and NAIT MRT program. Understands and adheres to the AHS DI provincial positioning & protocol manual. Working knowledge of RIS, HIS, PACS, Connect Care, CR & DR. Demonstrated proficient organizational, technical, interpersonal, communication, and computer skills. Demonstrated ability to assume responsibility, and work effectively independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated clear pattern of professional and personal development. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, coach and mentor others. Demonstrated ability to foster relationships, liaise and collaborate. Demonstrated ability in the use of tact, courtesy and professionalism with patients, students, staff, and physicians. Demonstrated ability in critical thinking, problem solving and decision making. Demonstrated utilization of strong judgment by analyzing facts, considering the impact, and arriving at a sound conclusion, seeking counsel when appropriate. Demonstrated strong, adaptive communication skills utilizing a variety of modalities (verbal, written, active listening). Demonstrated ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities within a busy environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory and/or leadership training. Experience precepting students. NAIT Preceptor training is an asset. Advanced Certification with CAMRT is an asset. Instructor certification is an asset. CT education/experience, an asset.
