| Organizational Unit Overview | The Division of Dermatology at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University, offers outpatient general dermatology services, Mohs micrographic surgery, general cutaneous surgical services, phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, V-beam laser services, and cosmetic services. The division also provides inpatient consultative services for ECU Health Medical Center which has over 900 beds, a new pediatric hospital, and a new cancer wing under construction. The hospital provides tertiary care services for the people of Eastern North Carolina, a service population of well over 1 million people. The division also trains medical students and residents in a variety of specialties. |
| Job Duties | The Division of Dermatology is seeking a certified medical/nursing assistant in the General Dermatology section of Dermatology. The assistant will provide patient care to adult and pediatric patients. Duties of this position include but are not limited to: scribing the entire visit: recording subjective, objective (physical exam), assessment (diagnosis), plan (orders and instructions), and charging for procedures, implementation of the plan delivered by provider which includes placing orders (labs, imaging, referrals, education, medications/refills, medical equipment, letters), patient work-up, in-basket messages, prior authorizations, maintaining patient flow, assisting the Mohs surgeon/General Dermatologist during outpatient services, and computer entry of patient information/visit. CLINICAL SUPPORT POSITION – NOT SUBJECT TO STATE HUMAN RESOURCES ACT. The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is affiliated with ECU Health Medical Center, which serves as it’s teaching hospital, as well as the flagship hospital for ECU Health. |
