Each month an extra payment of $167 (up to $10,000) from Avera will help pay down your principal balance faster.Job SummaryThe Laboratory Quality Specialist is responsible for assisting with the operation of the Quality Management Services of the laboratory in accordance with the various regulatory and accrediting agencies, including the generation of various statistical administrative reports, quality assurance programs, accreditation and certification programs, etc. Under the guidance of the Medical Director assists the Quality Management Systems Manager and the AVP of the Clinical Laboratory with the overall administration of laboratory quality operations including auditing and working cooperatively with the hospital wide quality assurance programs.

Education and/or Experience

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a two-year college or technical school required.
• Two years progressively responsible clinical laboratory technicial experience required.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Word and Excel (Including graphing and charting) and computer database management skills required.
• An understanding of Quality Management/Quality Improvement and Lean 6 Sigma is preferred.
• Project management experience is preferred.

Certification, Licensure, Registration

• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician from the ASCP or equivalent is required.
• This position requires a valid driver’s license and the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.

Work Schedule

• Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm
• Full Time; 80hrs/2wks

PayThe hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $24.75-$37.00 per hour
