Position Description:

Purpose

Perform the day-to-day administrative, logistical, and enrollment activities of the All of Us Research Program at multiple Froedtert clinics and community sites in the Greater Milwaukee area and surrounding communities (travel required). Provide support to the team to facilitate the achievement of the program’s goals.

Hybrid Work Schedule: Mostly onsite, with a potential to be Hybrid, 1 day a week.

Primary Functions

• Recruit diverse program participants through phone calls, emails, and outreach activities, both on-campus and in the community. Coordinate recruitment efforts for the team, and act as a liaison with community organizations.
• Register, consent, enroll, and retain program participants, and facilitate these processes for other team members. Coordinate and lead special enrollment events at multiple locations.
• Obtain participant data (physical measurements, blood pressure) and biospecimens (blood, urine) in accordance with program protocols and in collaboration with other team members.
• Perform phlebotomy, separate serum from cells, process and store samples following a standard protocol using safe technique.
• Perform data entry, ensuring accuracy and completion.
• Assist Program Manager with screening potential hires and onboarding new research assistants.
• Conduct and coordinate training for clinical research assistants.
• Assure compliance with all relevant IRB and other regulatory agency requirements, SOPs, and program-related training requirements. Perform routine spot checks and report findings to Program Manager.
• Follow research protocols and standard operating procedures for arranging appointments; working collaboratively with other departments, institutions, organizations, and clinics; and maintaining contact with program participants.
• Identify problems or obstacles in procedures related to implementation of the research protocols and communicate these to the Program Manager.
• Assist as needed in the preparation of IRB documents and reports, and the evaluation and writing of SOPs.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to inventory management.
• Maintain program timeline including tracking deadlines for program components.
• Select approved brochures, flyers, and educational materials for outreach and participant interactions.
• Assist with special projects, such as mass mailings and data quality control.
• Travel to sites within Wisconsin is required daily.

Preferred Schedule:

M-F, evenings and weekends may be required

Position Requirements:

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Knowledge – knowledge of biology, chemistry, customer service standards, basic research procedures, documentation, and records management; understanding of the social and biological determinants of health; familiar with the cultural norms of diverse Milwaukee communities

Skills – excellent oral and written communication skills; Motivational Interviewing (MI) training and sales experience; computer proficiency across multiple platforms; phlebotomy, safe specimen processing, and data collection

Abilities – complex problem solving, critical thinking, process improvement, resource management, organization, and attention to detail

Specifications

Appropriate education and/or experience may be substituted on equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education: Associate Degree

Minimum Required Experience: 1 year; phlebotomy

Preferred Education: Licensed Practical Nurse or bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Public and Community Health, Nursing, Healthcare, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, Biology)

Preferred Experience: Multi-site clinical studies; research protocols

Field: Human Subjects Research

Certification: CITI training within 90 days of hire

Physical Requirements

Work requires occasionally lifting moderate weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.

Risk Potential

Some exposure to hazards such as dust, fumes, or extreme temperatures, airborne or bloodborne pathogens, or allergens.

Sensory Acuity

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
