Working in the Mechanical Key Maintenance Initiatives Department
The Mechanical KMI Department is responsible for Regulated and Legistated testing of mechanical equipment to ensure a clear, healthy, safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment for students, staff, and visitors to the University in the most effective and efficient manner that supports the University’s academic and Research missions.
Position Summary
Within the general framework of Division policies and procedures and under the guidance of the Mechanical KMI Trades Supervisor, the Facilities Technician is responsible for helping the Division achieve its mission statement -To maintain a clear, healthy, safe, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing physical environment for students, staff and visitors to the University in the most effective and efficient manner that supports the University’s academic and research missions.
The position provides a variety of domestic preventative and proactive maintenance tasks (tasks that require “skilled labor’ but do not all within a specific trade or journeypersons legislated work functions) within a specific Division service area. These activities are key to ensuring that conditions conducive to a safe efficient and economical operation are maintained in University Facilities.
