About the role 

As the Head of Digital Engagement, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance our digital presence and engage our target audience across multiple digital platforms. Working closely with and reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and PR, you will lead digital strategy and operations in the Marketing and Communications Department and  support digital transformation by driving web and CRM progress improvements and developing road maps and business processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing regular analysis of engagement activity across the customer journey to support agile operations and high-quality decision-making.

You will lead a team of talented professionals, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop and ensure that Staffordshire University remains at the forefront of digital engagement trends and technologies.

This role is pivotal to driving our digital transformation agenda and ensuring that we implement innovative campaigns, foster customer loyalty and drive brand awareness.

You should have proven and relevant experience in a similar role, a strong understanding of digital and content strategy, and up to date specialist digital knowledge, including marketing automation, engagement and communications. The role is also part of the Senior Management Team in the department and the postholder must have a disciplined and efficient approach to meeting the department’s strategic priorities.

Main Responsibilities 

  • Develop and implement a cohesive digital engagement strategy that aligns with strategic priorities of driving customer acquisition, engagement and retention. 
  • Identifying strategic digital propositions that meet customer needs, ensuring the most appropriate solutions are taken forward.
  • Lead and inspire a team of digital engagement and creative specialists delivering innovative content design, UX and comms across all digital channels.
  • Think strategically, with the ability to simplify complex and conflicting tasks, ensuring these are effectively managed, prioritised and communicated.
  • Represent the department on key digital transformation projects, working collaboratively and productively with all stakeholders.
