The Materials Technician will work in the Integration and Logistics group and will be required to work at FANUC Canada Mississauga on a daily basis to complete shipping, receiving, and logistics functions: Primary responsibilities will include:

Dock and Shop Floor (approximately 6 hours per day):
-
Report to the Integration Supervisor and work with Project Managers, shop coworkers, truckers, and logistics and trucking suppliers like NIPPON.

Maintain a personal arrival, breaks and departure schedule consistent with scheduled trucks and opening and
-
closing the docks.
-
Load and unload robots, parts and related materials to and from trucks.
-
Manually lift boxes and use pump trucks, box carts and forklifts.
-
Unpack and open all incoming materials and sort recyclable materials.
-
Separate, sort and store materials in appropriate inventory locations.
-
Inspect, match and receive materials and paperwork to verify accuracy.
-
Review shipping documentation for accuracy, export and customs compliance.
-
Confirm shipping terms and coordinate with customers picking up materials.
-
Schedule and coordinate the dock availability, loading and unloading schedules.
-
Inspect, pack and prepare Robots and related materials for shipping.
-
Annually identify, count and organize or scrap current and obsolete inventory.
-
Maintain docks, parts and shipping areas in a neat and orderly manner (sweep, organize, remove used shipping
-
materials, stock tape, break down cardboard, etc.)

Shipping Office (approximately 2 hours per day):
-
Maintain computerized shipping and receiving logs in a timely accurate manner.
-
Obtain competitive pricing for outgoing trucks, combining loads wherever possible.
-
Pick and release inventory of received items to multiple projects.
-
Expedite missing and delayed shipments with customers and trucking companies.
-
Work with shop personnel, supervisors and project managers to allocate floor space.

Document damaged items and complete tasks to return them to suppliers. Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
-
High School Diploma or GED.
-
College or university degree or diploma applicable to business, administration, logistics or supply chain tasks preferred.
-
3 years’ experience working with logistics, shipping and receiving, export compliance and inventory management teams.
-
Experience with scheduling, shipping and export of compliance documents, and ability to write concise and organized emails.
-
Current forklift license, applicable maintenance, safety training and daily forklift checks.
-
Previous experience using Oracle ERP systems preferred.
-
Microsoft Office, and other computer tools, interpret and action.

Ability to work in a high demanding environment with complex workloads, occasional overtime, and short-notice schedule changes.

Ability to work with suppliers, coworkers, truckers, customs, etc. to communicate logistics details professionally including truck schedules, dock and forklift activities, etc.

Ability to review and complete incoming and outgoing shipment transactions for receiving, releasing and ship confirming orders.

Comply with Ontario and Canada laws and FANUC Safety Guidelines and other related policies in a stressful and demanding environment.

Operate AV equipment and pick, package and ship parts in boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
