Job Summary The Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) at Auburn University is looking to fill two positions for Materials Coordinator. These positions coordinate the warehouse operations for AMSTI materials distribution and refurbishment center to include the refurbishment process, inventory control and shipping and handling.

Essential Functions Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Refurbishment of math and science kit modules using established procedures and within the projected rate, at the expected quality level.
  • Preparing training kit modules for all professional development sessions
  • Accountability for completed refurbishment of kit modules during each cycle.
  • Accountability for correct number of consumable and non-consumable module items within each module refurbished.
  • Helping to coordinate the purchasing, inventorying, scheduling, and distribution of science and mathematics modules and materials.
  • Helping to provide reports to the AMSTI site director, AMSTI Business Manager or AMSTIALDSDE regarding the teacher and materials database, material costs, distribution schedules, as requested.
  • Setting up the AMSTI facility for professional development training and other special meetings.
  • Attending all required professional learning activities.

Minimum Skills, License, and Certifications

Minimum Skills and Abilities Candidates must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and other staff members; ability to prioritize tasks; ability to drive a delivery van; ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis; ability to stay organized and pay attention to detail; the ability to work in a team environment and independently; ability to multi-task; knowledge of inventory management and some associate software used in inventory management and knowledge of safety rules and regulations for warehouse operation.

Minimum License and Certifications Valid driver’s license
