We are seeking talented Material Handlers to join our team!
Potential Work Schedule:
- Day Shift: Monday – Friday; 6:30 am – 3:00 pm (40hrs per week)
- Afternoon Shift: Monday – Thursday; 4:00 pm- 2:00 am (38hrs per week)
- Weekend Shift: Friday – Sunday; 6:00 am- 6:00 pm (36hrs per week) .
Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for these positions is $23.25-$26.25.
These positions may be entitled to a $1 shift premium per hour for the afternoon shift and a $2.50 shift premium for the weekend shift.
This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and team performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings.

Are you passionate about logistics? S&C Electric Company is seeking dynamic individuals for our logistics function. As Material Handlers, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use a Forklift (electric or propane), tugger, overhead crane, and other equipment to deliver materials both inside and outside of the manufacturing facility. Review job orders and internal requests to determine the appropriate location and drop-off procedure.
- Monitor restock requests and move materials to locations that will soon need more materials.
- Measure part quantity and type using scales and hand tools to ensure supply requests are fulfilled accurately.
- Review works orders and part drawings to accurately determine which parts and materials are needed for specific jobs and areas.
- Utilize trigger cards and internal applications to identify where new materials are needed, ensuring accuracy in quantities and that proper procedures are followed.
- Utilize Oracle ERP to review packing slips and bills of material. Check work orders and inspect materials to confirm accuracy and report quality concerns when necessary.
- Mentors basic-level team members in the completion of their work to help their professional growth.
- Complete electronic forklift safety inspections daily on each truck used.
- Participate in LPS improvements, acting as a subject matter expert and problem solver for different activities.
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
What you’ll Need To Succeed:
- 1-3 years of demonstrated experience in a material handling or related role within a manufacturing environment.
- 1-3 years of driving a forklift in a manufacturing environment with a safe driving record.
- Ability to operate both an electric and propane-powered forklift for indoor and outdoor use.
- Sound attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently and enter information correctly in the ERP system.
- Ability to work independently and meet the requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
- Good computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications. Able to utilize ERP software to complete a variety of basic material handling functions.
- Possess a good understanding of how to read blueprints and job orders.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities and weights.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work successfully and share information with team members from a variety of different production and production support teams.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as scales and callipers.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
- Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
- Proficient in using MS Office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
Physical demands:
- Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.
- Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs to 20 lbs.
- Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1km).
- Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.
- Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
- Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000 lbs.
- Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes.
- Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
- Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 20 lbs.
