Summary

Barry University is currently seeking a Marketing Content Videographer/Editor.

The Marketing Content Videographer and Editor films and edits content for advertising/ marketing/ digital/ social media campaigns for Barry University in general, Colleges/Schools/Programs specifically, and any other University needs.  

As a key member of the team, the Marketing Content Videographer/Editor is ultimately responsible for creating highly engaging photographic/ video content that generates BarryU brand awareness, promotes student recruitment, enrollment, and retention through multiple platforms, promotes the advancement of our brand vision and values, promotes student and alumni engagement, supports University events and informational sessions, among other goals.

This position provides creative leadership and vision, planning and supervision of Barry video-related production staff and freelancers (writers, art directors, photographers, videographers, video editors, video graphic artists, audio, among others,) with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, production and timeline planning, coordination with other departments/Barry admin and outside vendors.

The person in this position must have proven videography/editorial, creative concepting, storytelling, and production skills. Must be highly organized, and able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Essential Functions

  • Films and edits multiple types of creative assets on campus or other locations for social, digital, web, among others under varying scopes of work and competing timelines. Uses existing footage to create new edits versions based on project objectives.

  • Works with marketing account managers, marketing technology, and others to produce creative content that reflects the needs of each assignment. Proactively identifies creative opportunities and ensures accuracy and relevance of information. Seeks approvals and revises based on team input.

  • Proactively monitors, prioritizes and manages projects in Workfront, or comparable project management platform.

  • Maintains video management and storage platforms. Organizes files, tags footage, retrieves footage, and maintains accurate records and logs.

  • Supervises, trains and provides ongoing leadership to members of the content marketing team.

  • Nurtures collaboration, shared learning, best practices, and action plans with other departments/ requestors. Provides ongoing or on demand Status Updates to AVP of Marketing and Brand.

  • Attends and supports Barry University of School/College/Program events as necessary or assigned during varying times including after hours and weekends.

  • Maintains video and editorial equipment, software, and storage. Stays up to date on video/ editorial hardware/ software, and graphic design trends.

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

  • Advanced Video production, photography, video editing, storytelling, video graphic design skills.

  • Detailed knowledge of current tools and advertising/marketing trends (creative and tech)

  • Problem-solving, consensus-building, resourcefulness

  • High attention to detail.

  • Excellent project management skills.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of study is required

  • Prior experience with content creative and content production; advertising agency experience may substitute for some of above education

  • 5-8 years of related experience is required

  • Knowledge of marketing and advertising campaigns, video production, video editorial, photography, graphic design, audio, performance marketing, digital marketing, social media, and production planning. 

  • Knowledge and experience in the following areas/skills a plus:

  • Understanding of Barry University, its student life and Mission

  • Understanding or higher education Undergraduate and Graduate recruitment and enrollment practices

  • Understanding of specific School/College/Program within Barry University or comparable Higher Ed Institution

  • Understanding of higher education in general, including recruitment, enrollment and retention initiatives

  • Understanding of trends, techniques and platforms related to content creative

  • Understanding of social media, design and pop-culture trends
