Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Marketing & Communications Coordinator for the Communications Division at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
The Marketing & Communications Specialist is dedicated to marketing and communications for the Cancer Health Equity Center of Excellence (CHECoE) including Community Outreach and Engagement and ScreenNJ efforts. This positon will report directly through CINJ Communications, also guidance also given by the CHECoE Program Director.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Adhere to CHECoE’s communications plan and works with team to enhance program deliverables and assist with evaluation of success.
  • Design, develop, and maintain library of marketing materials and multimedia packages per institutional branding standards.
  • Develop reports and brochures that support the needs of work related to the CHECoE Center such as the annual impact report and public facing Envisio dashboard.
  • Maintain the CHECoE news bulletins and other related publications and executes consistency with all marketing efforts.
  • Works with CINJ Communications team CHECoE and COE social media efforts such as Rutgers Giving Day campaign.
  • Presents design ideas and recommendations to marketing manager and CHECoE director.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or in a related field.
  • Three (3) years of related experience in marketing and communications or similar field.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be highly motivated and possess a high degree of creativity.
  • Must be team oriented, flexible, and focused on completing projects in a timely manner.
  • Must be very organized and detail oriented and able to articulate concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Candidates should be able to work effectively with multiple constituencies.
  • Effective oral and communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Abode, Photoshop.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a healthcare or academic environment.
