About the Role
The Marketing Cloud Specialist at the University of Melbourne’s Digital Strategy and Channels team plays a pivotal role in designing and maintaining personalised communications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Collaborating with the Marketing Cloud team and senior developers, this position involves leadership, mentorship, and the execution of digital marketing campaigns in a university undergoing a digital transformation. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Recommend and implement solutions for effective constituent experiences 
  • Train and support Email specialists within the team to build emails from a template within Marketing Cloud 
  • Utilising HTML, CSS, and AMPscript for email production 
  • Assisting with complex ad-hoc email sends, e.g. where dynamic content blocks or AMPscript are required 
  • Reviewing existing automations and journeys in Marketing Cloud, make recommendations to improve them, and then optimise and re-run them 
  • Providing technical support to a team of CRM Campaign Specialists, escalating complex issues to senior Marketing Cloud developers 

Who we are looking for
You love technology and can bridge the gap between technical and marketing functions. You have experience creating responsive and personalised communications using Salesforce Marketing Cloud 

You’re a collaborative team player who is comfortable navigating complex organisational environments, and you are a comfortable collaborator who can work with other experts to get the best outcome You apply creative thinking to find effective business outcomes, and you’re a natural leader who is comfortable promoting best practice use of Marketing Cloud among a team of CRM Campaign Specialists.   

You will also have: 

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer certification, or significant progress towards achieving this certification, such as having attained Marketing Cloud Email Specialist or Marketing Cloud Consultant certifications 
  • Proficient in AMP script and SQL  
  • Experience and knowledge in Salesforce Marketing Cloud’s various modules such as Email Studio, Journey Builder, Mobile Studio, and Automation Studio  
  • Understanding of Marketing Cloud data models, including Contact Model, Data Views and Data Extensions  
  • A minimum of three years of Marketing Cloud or similar platform experience
