The College of Biomedical and Life Sciences is currently looking to appoint a marketing and communications professional to support the activities of the College and all its constituent Schools. The successful candidate will work to significantly enhance the way our Schools present themselves to the outside world, as well as communicating effectively with a diverse range of both internal and external customers and delivering a mix of communications activity that will inform, inspire, involve and influence.
We are seeking an individual with exceptional communication skills and the ability to interpret complex information into high quality, engaging and creative written copy. Experience of student recruitment, supporting the implementation of marketing campaigns and liaising with external agencies would be advantageous, but not essential. Ideally, we are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about developing a career in Communications. Someone who is creative, eager to learn, and full of exciting ideas.
You will report directly to the Marketing and Communications Manager within the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences.
The College of Biomedical and Life Sciences is a vibrant academic community, which undertakes innovative research and provides state-of-the-art learning facilities. This position is full-time, 35 hours per week and open-ended. Secondment opportunity welcome – please note for Cardiff University members of staff interested in this post on a secondment basis, permission will need to be sought from your current Line Manager before applying.
Salary: Salary: £23,700 – £24,533 per annum (Grade 3); appointment is usually made at the bottom of the scale.
Please note that it is not expected that we will appoint above grade 3, point 13, currently £23,700 per annum.

Support the Marketing and Communications team to deliver a wide range of innovative communications activity that will inform, inspire, involve, and influence.
Assist with marketing campaigns, content creation, social media management, and internal / external communications. Take a proactive role in supporting our events programme, providing excellent digital and administrative support.
Provide an exceptional service to all our customers and work collaboratively across the University to enhance the way we present ourselves to the outside world.
