The People and Culture Directorate at CQUniversity is seeking a Manager Workplace Relations to help us create positive, human centred solutions for our organisation.
Our goal is to ensure the University is a great place to work and do so through providing Safety, Payroll, Employment, Professional Development and HR Services. We are accountable for ensuring the University meets its legislative obligations regarding these functions and we do so in a way that makes it as simple and hassle free as possible for our staff. You are the subject matter expert, managing workplace relations matters including change management, industrial disputes, investigations and case management of people matters.
To be successful in this role you will have developed a strong career in coordinating and resolving workplace relations matters. You will have experience providing advice to senior leaders and people managers and possess knowledge and understanding of workplace relations legislation, industrial instruments and enterprise bargaining negotiations. You will also use a proactive approach to continuously educate, coach and mentor our leaders to ensure they are empowered to manage their teams and resolve issues before escalation.
Position Requirements
- Demonstrated experience at a senior level providing advice and managing complex workplace, industrial and employee relations matters
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with proven success in developing collaborative partnerships with managers and Union representatives.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of and reporting against strategic and operational plans
- Experience empowering and educating leaders using a mentoring and coaching approach.
- Demonstrated capacity to identify and analyse issues and then proactively resolve emerging or complex people matters by utilising advanced professional skills.
