About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager in Student and Academic Administration to join our world-class School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. This School, home to the professional disciplines of Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech Pathology, is at the forefront of innovation in health and well-being education and research in Australia and around the world.
As the Manager, you will provide leadership to our dedicated team of student and academic administrators to support the day-to-day operations of the School and its community of academic and professional staff and cohort of domestic and international students. Located at our vibrant St Lucia campus , you will have the opportunity to partner with School leadership to ensure strategic teaching and learning goals of the School are met.
Key responsibilities will include:
Team and Culture
Lead the student and academic administration team to achieve positive outcomes and develop and maintain a high performing, client focussed culture. Team leadership includes the overall supervision of staff, multi-skilling to ensure flexibility and responsiveness, staff development and performance appraisal.
Student and Academic Administration Management
Manage, plan, and oversee the delivery of teaching and assessment support in the School.
Manage, plan, and oversee the casual academic hire and pay process for teaching and assessment activities in the School.
Oversee international and domestic admission, with an emphasis on monitoring and reporting on intake targets and strategic priorities.
Maintain the structure, integrity and accuracy of student data and course and program information.
Liaison and Advisory
Provide detailed, timely, accurate, and expert advice to stakeholders on University policies and procedures in relation to teaching and assessment support.
Provide advice and support to the School’s Executive on student and academic matters through interpretation of rules and policies to formulate appropriate recommendations, including preparation of submissions on more complex or sensitive student matters such as misconduct, grievances, and appeals.
Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across the School, Faculty, and broader University to foster positive working relationships and achieve effective outcomes.
Committee Support
Manage, plan, and oversee the governance and preparation of documentation for committees and central submissions.
Serve as secretary to committees and working parties as required.
Represent the School on Faculty and University working parties and other committees as required, critically analysing information to consider change and new initiatives.

About You
We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Manager, Student and Academic Administration with:
Postgraduate qualifications or progress toward postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant university experience; or management expertise and extensive relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Demonstrated leadership skills in building a strong, positive culture of excellence and client service.
Demonstrated expertise in using corporate systems to source data and advise on approaches.
Excellent interpersonal skills including a demonstrated history of building and maintaining productive working relationships within and across organisational units.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to write with clarity and precision.
A thorough knowledge of student and academic administration legislation, policies and procedures, and the ability to interpret, apply and provide high level advice, including developing policy statements, preparing position papers, detailed reports and other submissions.
A track record of commitment to a culture of continuous improvement including the ability to identify areas for improvement, lead reviews and successfully implement efficient and effective business processes.
What We Can Offer
This is a full-time (1FTE), continuing position at HEW Level 8.
The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $102,270 – $114,835 plus super of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be in the range $119,656 – $134,357 per annum.
The following flexible employment options may be available for this role: some working from home; variable start or finish times; compressed hours; purchased leave; flex-time.
