Manager, Strategic Initiatives – Term Position

The Manager, Strategic Initiatives is responsible for executing on medium to large scale initiatives and projects supporting Global Wealth Management, specifically focused on impacts to Global Wealth Management Operations. This role supports approved initiatives aimed at driving functional and organizational strategy. The incumbent is responsible for providing quality, efficient and specialized project execution, and leadership on a diverse range of assignments.
This is a 12 month term position.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
Represent business needs required to support internal and external clients by identifying, developing, and implementing best practices to create an outstanding client experience
As part of a project team, engage leaders and key stakeholders to identify challenges and gaps in operational processes & practices
On assigned projects, assess business processes, methods, systems, and procedures for enhancement and makes recommendations for improvement
Facilitate sessions with key internal stakeholders and vendors to elicit requirements, solution options and other information to support well informed business decisions
Work in partnership with a cross-functional leadership group, representing Global Wealth Management Operations (GWMO), to ensure GWMO’s respective operational needs and objectives in the near and long term are appropriately considered
Identify key tasks and deliverables required to build and execute project plans for various initiatives using strong project management skills
Using comprehensive business knowledge and leadership, you will manage project deliverables and mitigate organizational risk
Champion and role-model effective project execution, communication, process documentation standards and change management on various initiatives
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
A University degree in Business, Economics, Accounting of Finance is preferred
5+ years’ experience in a financial services operations environment, preferably within Wealth Management
Knowledge of MS Office Tools
Change Management, Six Sigma and Project Management Experience is an asset
Experience facilitating and collaborating in a workshop setting with internal and external (vendor) participants
Experience identifying key project stakeholders and working with them to achieve organizational goals
In-depth knowledge of wealth management, business operations, technology solutions and project management disciplines
An understanding of the functional operating model within Global Wealth Management
Effective interpersonal, self-motivation, presentation and communication skills bot written and verbal
An ability to network and build strategic partnerships
An ability to work and make decisions with significant independence and a high level of autonomy
An ability to meet deliverables with little direction from manager
An ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently
An ability to organize, lead and influence others to act and make decisions
Proven conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Effective organization skills to track activities to completion on time
An ability to ask relevant and thought-provoking questions to identify potential gaps
Bilingualism is an asset
