| Job Summary |
Duties involve management and development of personnel as well as management/coordination of contractors/vendors, projects and services in support of University initiatives.
- The manager and his subordinates are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the University IT infrastructure, including but not limited to copper wiring plant, fiber optic wiring plant, UPS equipment in IT distribution and data centers, provisioning and monitoring of utilities in support of IT distribution and data centers and provisioning and monitoring of physical security of distribution and data centers.
- This position will also be responsible to liaise with the Office of Facilities Management in support of renovation and construction activities.
This position calls for one who is skilled at translating IT-risk requirements and business constraints into technical control requirements and specifications.
- This individual will utilize metrics to measure performance and provide regular status and service-level reports to your team and to management.

| Essential Duties and Responsibilities |
- Management of staff and contractors/vendors in support of the UTA wiring infrastructure. Provide direction and coordination, performance evaluation, set daily schedules and tasks, coordinate off-hours responses. Manage day to day requirements in the resolution of incident/request issues.
- Service Owner/Manager responsibilities, including creating, monitoring, and verifying status of service level agreements (SLAs); assessing metrics to ensure SLAs are being met and determine the on-going business value of the SLAs, review of service budgetary requirements and expenditure plans, etc.
- Assess the current and future infrastructure needs of the University. Responsible for engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities associated with provisioning and maintaining an effect IT infrastructure.
- Plan out and provide subject matter expertise in working with campus partners in provisioning of University IT infrastructure needs.
- Other duties as assigned.

| Required Qualifications |
- Bachelor degree in Networking, Electrical Technology, or other relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
- 3+ years in the design, implementation and support of an enterprise IT infrastructure
- Ability to lift and move 50lbs of equipment, work on platforms, ladders and under raised floors.
- Ability to work within a hybrid development, engineering, and support team
- Ability to collaborate with team members, staff, and customers.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Skilled in communicating effectively both orally and in written form to a variety of constituents at varying levels of authority within the organization
- Ability to think intuitively and analytically to break down and resolve problems
- Ability to read, understand, and follow high-level policies and guidelines and apply those guidelines to daily responsibilities.
- Ability to work proactively and independently

| Preferred Qualifications |
- 3+ years of data center design and/or construction experience
- One or more of the following certifications:

| Working Conditions |
- This job is an on-premises position, a remote or hybrid working schedule is not an available option for this position.
- Use of standard office equipment, personal computer, and Microsoft office. General office conditions. Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
- Participates in an on-call rotation for 24×7 continuous system availability. Frequently works off-hours to perform emergency and routine system maintenance.
- Occasional need to be on or to access construction sites, steam tunnels, crawl spaces, roof areas and other similar locations.
