Chatham University welcomes applications for the position of Manager of Facilities Services. In this position you will assist the Director with the administration, supervision and management of the facilities for all of Chatham’s campuses.

The Manager of Facilities Services reports directly to the Manager of Facilities Management and will manage the Department in the Director’s absence. The Manager will assist in directly managing all aspects pertaining to job performance, personnel issues, financial planning, and scheduling of employees. The Manager will also oversee the implementation of projects and the operation of the Office of Facilities Management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work in close coordination with the Director of Facilities to ensure that all of the Chatham campuses support requirements are met in a timely and professional manner.
• Communicate progress, initiatives, updates, and relevant information to the campus community.
• Respond to campus matters after hours, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
• In the Director’s absence, manage the Facilities Management Department.
• Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of special events according to customer requests.
• Clearly communicate with faculty, staff, students, third-party renters and other members of the campus and neighborhood community as customers.
• Establish budgets, building projects, cleaning schedules, standards, inspections and training programs, based upon the academic calendar.
• Interview, select, supervise, inspect and manage the daily activities of the Senior Housekeeping, Storekeeper, Special Events Coordinator, Gate House Coordinator and related personnel for those departments.
• Coordinate the timing, scheduling, supervision and ordering of any necessary equipment related to events for all three campuses.
• Space planning coordination and communication with faculty and staff pertaining to relocations and renovations, along with the purchase of furniture for all three campuses.
• Coordinate construction and repair projects with the Director of Facilities, faculty and staff. Purchase and schedule all related construction and post construction materials such as signage whiteboards, etc. and cleaning.
• Oversee the University rental properties for maintenance and repair.
• Responsible for overseeing the overall operation of the Gate House.
• Responsible for coordinating and facilitating outside contracts for all campuses.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Possess an undergraduate degree or relevant experience.
• Five years’ experience in managing properties and knowledge of Housekeeping and Event operations, preferably in higher education.
• Knowledge and skills in MS Word and Excel.
