About Student and Scholarly Services
Student and Scholarly Services (SASS) provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

About the Role
As Manager, Global Learning, you will lead a high performing team responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive suite of established inbound and outbound global learning opportunities including exchange, study abroad and short-term programs. The team works collaboratively with Chancellery, academic divisions and other support teams to provide excellent service to students and institutional partners worldwide and contributes to the University’s global ambitions under the Advancing Melbourne strategic plan.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the operational delivery of university-wide Global Learning programs, managing a high performing team in the effective delivery of global learning services to students
  • Manage the administration of Australian Government mobility grant programs including the New Colombo Plan
  • Lead engagement with international partners and program providers to operationalise University partnerships for the delivery of global learning programs
  • Effectively manage in-scope resources, supporting staff to deliver high quality services, and work collaboratively in a multi-faceted team environment

About You
To be successful in this role, you will leverage extensive working experience in a similar role with advanced cross-cultural competence, presentation and interpersonal skills to provide advice, advocacy and influence in supporting senior university leaders in their decision making. You have demonstrated your ability to cultivate a safe and respectful work environment, and managing team performance, balancing the need to provide consistent service excellence and operating efficiently in a fast-paced environment. You strive for innovation and continuous improvement, and not afraid of ambiguity and thinking outside the box.

You will also have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in applying legislative frameworks such as ESOS, The National Code and HESA in a student service environment and solid experience in applying that knowledge in providing advice and support to senior university leaders in their decision making
  • Demonstrated knowledge and significant expertise in the domain of global learning, including managing a high performing team, ideally in a large-scale international education context
  • Demonstrated strong experience in delivering high standards of operational services, with a focus on student experience, ideally in both ‘current student’ and ‘future student’ service environments
