Job Description

W. P. Carey School of Business is seeking an energetic, service oriented and self-motivated person to work on its Enrollment and Engagement team as a Management Intern. The Engagement team works to implement programs and support services aimed at orientation, retention, leadership development, and engagement of W. P. Carey undergraduate students. In the W. P. Carey School of Business first-year students are placed in a group of classes, called a cohort, to support student success, and this Management Intern will provide support and oversight of this process. Within this process students are pre-enrolled into courses prior to attending their academic orientation session.

Essential Duties

  • Under general supervision of the Manager of Engagement, the Management Intern will assist with pre-enrollment, cohort management, and outreach to students of concern
  • Responsible for pre-enrollment of first-year W. P. Carey students
  • Daily tracking of cohort counts to ensure cohorts match enrollment numbers
  • Outreach to students of concern ensuring they have the tools to be successful at Arizona State University and the W. P. Carey School of Business
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners on and off campus
  • Develop, coordinate, and assess programs and events
  • Work in and contribute to a team setting
  • Support all engagement and departmental activities aimed at orientation, retention, leadership development, and graduation of W. P. Carey students

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience in organizing resources and establishing priorities

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals. Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts. Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions. Consistent direction and feedback is provided to ensure stated goals and objectives are being achieved/met.  Work occasional extended hours, including evening and/or weekends, as needed.
