Job Description
The Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering is seeking a Management Intern for the Student Success and Engagement team, part of Academic & Student Affairs in the Fulton Dean’s Office. This part-time (20 hours per week), benefits-eligible position will primarily support the Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Section Leader programs; providing logistical support, preparation of program needs and assessment, and development of marketing materials, communication, and follow-up for programs. Essential Duties
- Coordinates operations of Undergraduate Teaching Assistant and Section Leader programs through onboarding, training, and scheduling
- Supervises, trains, and evaluates working learners within Student Success and Engagement
- Oversees hiring process for student and professional staff
- Develops and facilitates workshops, meetings, and events with high impact on program and/or participants, coordinates logistics, scheduling, and develops marketing/communications in accordance with the Fulton mission and goals
- Aids faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding programming and events
- Assesses programs in areas of responsibility and develops/provides annual reports
- Acts as secondary support to Fulton Difference programs including FURI, MORE, ASU 101, and Fulton tutoring
- Provides leadership training and organizational management opportunities through workshops and seminars to targeted groups. Includes student org trainings, meetings, offices hours as needed.
- Attends seminars, workshops and conferences.
- Provides assistance and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding function/program.
- Serves as a representative to ensure all aspects of function/program are implemented and controlled according to plans.
- Prepares budget proposals and recommendations and establishes budget control system for controlling expenditures; controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations; recommends equipment and resources for function/program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Desired Qualifications
- Evidence of effective communication.
- Experience in Windows and Microsoft Office applications, Google sites, Acrobat, Adobe Connect, Canvas, Analytics, MyReports, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of extra- and co-curricular programming. Experience in customer service.
- Experience with managing projects.
Working Environment
- Activities include extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and manipulating a computer mouse
- Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work
- Frequent bending, walking, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- Communicate clearly to perform essential functions.
- Work both independently or within a complex structured team.
