Maintenance Mechanic in Toronto, Ontario



Packaging Mechanic will be responsible for setting up production lines, reconfiguring them, and fixing the various components of the line as needed with basic hand tools. Will have to work with scales, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics. Lines are pretty easy to learn and run.

  • Provide mechanical maintenance and repair support to all departments within the facility

  • Prevent premature breakdown of the equipment used in the production and the facility through PM

  • Correct unsafe working conditions

  • Trouble shoot mechanical breakdown in the production process

  • Assist in the installation of new equipment in the facility

  • Work together with all the other departments to ensure a productive team environment and the continuous improvement of the plant process

  • Report any concerns and or problems to the manager through daily written and verbal reporting


  • 1-3 years of Machine Technician or Setup work with production lines/maintenance technician experience

  • Mechanically inclined

  • Lathe and milling machine maintenance experience

  • Hand and power tools experience (screw driers, ratchets, wrenches, allen keys, etc)

  • Ability to weld MIG mild and stainless steel, TIG welding is an asset

  • Must have own basic tools.

Aft shift: 3pm-11:30pm Mon-Fri

Aft shift candidate must be willing to train on days for a few weeks then switch to afternoons full time after training is complete

Pay: $32.75 + $0.50 premium for aft shift
