Maintenance Generalist ll

Operates, inspects, tests, diagnoses and performs repair service and preventative maintenance on air conditioning, refrigeration and specialized equipment, chillers, cooling towers, pneumatic controls, compressors, boilers, pumps, minor electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems. Adjusts functional parts of devices or control instruments.

Performs and maintains preventive maintenance records on air conditioning, refrigeration and specialized equipment, chillers, cooling towers, pneumatic controls, compressors, boilers, pumps, minor electrical, lighting, and plumbing systems.

Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine location, size, capacity and type of components needed to maintain equipment. Plans and lays out work using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, or O&M manuals. Initiates purchases of materials, parts and tools.

Drives UF vehicle. Cleans and maintains shop and personal equipment.

A criminal background and post-offer health assessment will be conducted.

Work hours 7:00am – 3:30pm M-F.

Expected starting salary is $20.00/hr – $25.00/hr; commensurate with experience

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience.  Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

KNOWLEDGE OF: Procedures and methods of two or more trades. SKILL IN: Using hand tools, installing, repairing and maintaining various systems. ABILITY TO: Read blueprints and schematic drawings, plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain effective working relationships.

ABILITIES
Ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Must have experience in multiple trades.
