OverviewLMI is seeking a skilled Terrestrial Logistics Expert Consultant at our Colorado Springs, CO office to support the U.S. Space Force mission and related space operations. A competitive candidate for this role is capable of conducting supply chain analysis for space launch and spacecraft acquisitions, and infrastructure, energy, and environmental evaluations for existing and planned launch sites. This position requires a demonstrated understanding of both space operations and terrestrial logistics.   • Conduct supply chain analysis supporting space launch and spacecraft acquisition
  • Evaluate logistics infrastructure of existing and planned launch sites to determine readiness and identify improvements
  • Assess energy and environmental impacts on logistics operations at launch sites
  • Provide strategic recommendations for logistics planning and operational support
  • Research and analyze logistics-related challenges and propose actionable solutions
  • Develop and present after-action reports detailing lessons learned and recommendations for future logistics operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve logistics and support deficiencies
  • Analyze and report on the execution of logistics programs and recommend optimizations
  • Develop strategies to integrate sustainable practices into logistics operations
  • Participate in organizational updates by developing briefing materials, drafting meeting agendas and minutes, and tracking action items to resolution
  • Inform stakeholders of operational risks and proposed mitigating actions

QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of logistics experience and a Bachelor’s degree in logistics management, supply chain management, engineering, business management, or a related discipline; or 15+ years with the Department of Defense (DoD) and/or other federal agencies logistics experience
  • Experience in supporting space operations and terrestrial logistics
  • Practical experience in planning and operating logistics activities, including supply chain management
  • Strong understanding of logistics infrastructure requirements for space operations
  • Creative thinker and effective problem-solver
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written; experience in presenting to senior military and civilian leaders
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of stakeholders
  • A team player who maintains a positive attitude in a dynamic environment
  • You must be a U.S. Citizen. An active Top Secret (TS) with Secret Compartmentalized Information (SCI) is desired, or able to obtain a TS-SCI clearance.

DESIRED

  • Master’s degree in a logistics or related discipline.
  • Experience in cargo planning and handling operations
