The Brescia School of Food and Nutritional Sciences is seeking two Academic Clinical Coordinators in a Limited-Term position for 3-years (potential for renewal) at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience. The anticipated start date is September 1, 2024, or as negotiated.

Responsibilities include teaching courses related to dietetic practice in the Brescia School of Food and Nutritional Sciences; working with staff to effectively oversee and coordinate all the functions related to practicum, including the securing of practicum sites; liasing with practicum sites, preceptors, and mentors; supporting student success and evaluation; and completing service within the School, Faculty, and University. Additional duties may include participating on external profession-based committees and contributing to program review and accreditation activities.

The successful candidates will hold at least a master’s degree in a nutrition-related field and have registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (CDO). The candidates are required to have experience with, and demonstrate knowledge of, current competencies in dietetic-based practice. Teaching at the University level and experience in managing and coordinating dietetic practicum programs are preferred. The successful applicants will also have a demonstrated capacity to contribute substantively to an inclusive and diverse academic community.
The successful candidate will have expertise in the areas of dietetic professional practice and will be required to take a leadership role in managing the School’s practicum program. Additional consideration will be granted for applicants with leadership and teaching experience, and proficiency related to Canada’s Indigenous and/or marginalized populations.

The Brescia School of Food and Nutritional Sciences is one of seven schools in the progressive Faculty of Health Sciences. The Brescia School of Food and Nutritional Sciences offers three accredited dietetic programs and is recognized nationally for its leadership in dietetic education, training, and research. The School is committed to developing dietetic professionals through a science-driven and evidenced-informed approach with its established undergraduate, post-degree (DDEPT), and graduate (MScFN) programs. Our curriculum embodies a commitment to experiential, reflective, and transformative learning, and provides an extensive offering of courses that encompasses all areas of dietetic practice. The School has excellent teaching and research facilities and through our institutional, community, and industrial partnerships, offers a comprehensive practical education that enables students to meet entry level dietetic practice.
