Located in downtown Toronto, the largest and most culturally diverse city in Canada and on the territory of the Anishinaabeg, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat Peoples, the Department of Politics and Public Administration in the Faculty of Arts at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) invites applications for a Limited Term Faculty (LTF) position at the rank of Assistant Professor to teach courses in the areas of introductory politics and Canadian politics. The appointment shall be effective July 1, 2024 for a one-year term, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate is only expected to engage in teaching and service duties in the Department, while maintaining an inclusive, equitable, and collegial work environment across such activities.

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in politics or related disciplines, and ideally have teaching experience in introductory politics and Canadian politics courses by the appointment date. ABD candidates with an expected completion date before September 2024, may also be considered.

The successful candidate will be required to teach several large undergraduate courses and supervise academic teaching assistants.

Note: Limited Term Faculty appointments at Toronto Metropolitan University may not exceed a combined total of four years. Applicants with prior Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) LTF appointments need to consider this limitation, as it may render them ineligible to apply.
