We seek a Licensed Veterinary Technician for The Small Animal Community Practice (SACPS). Veterinary Technicians here support the Community Practice Service, Primary Care Surgery Service and Shelter Outreach Services Program. We work as a team, coordinating receiving and workup of incoming cases from the first point of contact to discharge.
In this position you will have a rotating schedule, which requires travel with the Cornell team (veterinarian, LVT, student(s)) to local shelters to work in collaboration with the Shelter Outreach Service (SOS) program. You will handle varied caseloads, including appointments and surgery, while assisting students and clinicians with the preparation and management of service flow. Specifically you will:

The Cornell University Hospital for Animals provides 24-hour care for pets 365 days of the year. The schedule for this position requires flexibility to ensure that adequate patient care and service needs are provided without interruption or exception. Schedule may include University and calendar holiday coverage to meet business needs. This position may include a rotating Saturday schedule, as well as alternating SOS days with other Technicians. Due to the nature of the SOS teaching trips, there are many variables (number of students, travel time, etc), which may involve a longer day and will require flexibility on the part of the support staff.
