Job Summary

• The LPN is responsible for assisting the registered nurse in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• The LPN is accountable for all patients assigned to him/her according to established policies and procedures of Avera St. Luke’s and the scope of practice for the licensed practical nurse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer’s status.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing.
• Previous experience is desirable, but not required.
• One or more years of Inpatient Nursing preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• Must have current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of South Dakota and/or meeting the requirements of multi-state licensure required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) is required.

Work Schedule

• Varied shifts; 72 hours 2 weeks

• 6:00 am – 6:30 pm, 6:00 pm – 6:30 am
• Every 3rd weekend
• Every 3rd holiday
• Occasional call time

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

• $22.75 – $31.50 per hour
