The Library enables the discovery of electronic and cultural collections, in spaces and galleries that are innovative, engaging and inspiring to support the Colleges, students, staff and community’s learning and research.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated Applications Administrator to provide technical expertise to implement, manage and support applications and websites used by the Library, Galleries and Cultural Collections. You will work across Library and Cultural Collections teams to facilitate discoverability and accessibility to collections, information resources and research outputs.
Key Accountabilities:
- Implement Library and Cultural Collections applications, websites, platforms and systems.
- Provide specialist technical advice and support, including diagnosing and resolving problems on Library and Cultural Collections applications and systems.
- Perform upgrades, customisations, development and integrations of existing applications, websites and systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation of Library managed systems.
- Liaise with ITS staff and product vendors to resolve problems and identify technology requirements to ensure systems meet requirements and key performance indicators.
Your Application
To be successful in the role, your application will need to demonstrate;
- A tertiary qualification in computing or a relevant field, or extensive experience in a Library/ICT Systems environment or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated experience working with server platforms, particularly Linux, and cloud and hosted networks.
- High level web application programming skills, using a variety of technologies, languages and frameworks, including but not limited to: Python, PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, MySQL and JSON.
- High level problem solving and diagnostic skills with complex systems and applications and an ability to learn new technology quickly, work independently and prioritise tasks
- Experience or knowledge of interacting with and contributing to open source projects and communities.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $107,061 comprising base salary within the range of $84,386 to $91,505 plus 17% superannuation.
