Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to work and study right in the heart of the city. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a lecturer to join the Games team. The role will suit a new graduate looking to advance their career while looking for opportunities in Higher Education.

Working in a team, you will be required to work on the Foundation Year of Video Gamers Design with opportunities to teach on the undergraduate course. You will be required to give lectures, teach the fundamentals of game design and to assess students.

Through effective engagement with the student body, you will:

• Play a significant role in the delivery of the course.
• Ensure students get a good level of practical experience.
• oversee projects and work on delivering the curriculum.
• Work alongside the School teams to ensure effective delivery of the course.
• Undertake assessment of students and ensure students are supported throughout the process.
• Educated to a degree level (or equivalent).
• Some industry experience is desirable.
• Have a commercial outlook and experience of the Games industry.
• Experience of working with new technology and some knowledge of current industry practice.
• Good communication skills and ability to address a cohort of students.
• Good writing and presentation skills.
• Strong IT skills.
