We are recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Sport Sociology or Sport Development to provide research and teaching in the Department.

We are investing strongly in our Institute of Sport; aiming to be a global leader in sports education and research. New research and teaching spaces provide a unique range of sports performance facilities, human movement laboratories and clinical imaging for detailed investigations of athletes, patients and the general public. We have good relationships with local sports organisations, community hubs and local authorities to facilitate research and community initiatives.
A major part of our strategy is to recruit research active academics to raise the profile and quality of research and education. For this particular position, we are seeking a sport sociologist or sports development specialist with experience of delivering innovative and collaborative research as well as research-informed, vibrant teaching to inspire our students. The ideal candidate will have the following:
The successful candidate will be based in the new Institute of Sport building and will access the Platt Lane Sports Complex to develop links with a wide range of sports and community organisations around Greater Manchester and beyond. Your research should be aligned to our thematic areas of Sports Medicine and Elite Performance, Healthy Life-course and Movement Impairment (clinical conditions).
