Position Overview

The School of Built Environment at Massey University (SBE) is the premier provider of built environment higher education in New Zealand and beyond. Whilst fully embracing its strengths in learning and teaching, SBE has also been making its mark in built environment research. Recently, the School has been awarded a major 5-year research grant from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment in New Zealand totalling $ 9.9M to improve the construction industry in New Zealand. The School is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional individual to take up the role of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Quantity Surveying and Construction Law to strengthen its dynamic and rapidly growing team.

Are you the high calibre of candidate we are looking for?

In this appointment, you will be expected to contribute to learning, teaching, supervision, research, and enterprise, as well as academic citizenship activities in the School. You will have a strong background in Quantity Surveying and Construction Law including a proven ability to develop and teach the major curriculum in our quantity surveying-related courses (mainly but not necessarily limited to courses such as Measurement, Cost Management, Construction Law, and Contract) as well as sound knowledge in the implementation of IT/advanced technologies in the quantity surveying field. In addition to proven ability in curriculum development and delivery, a good publication track record and experience applying for competitive grant proposals is also expected.

This particular position is a full-time permanent role and is based at Massey University’s Auckland campus. Whilst a relevant Ph.D. qualification is preferred, candidates with equivalent industry experience and standing in quantity surveying are also encouraged to apply.

Applications will be reviewed upon receipt and appointments may be made prior to the closing date.
