Psychology – Lecturer Position  

The Irving K. Barber School of Arts and Sciences at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus, invites applications for a limited term position (.75 FTE) in Psychology, at the rank of Lecturer. This is a 36-month term position with an expected start date of January 1, 2023. The successful candidate will be a member of the Department of Psychology (https://psych.ok.ubc.ca/ ).

Applicants must have a PhD in Psychology and be registered with the College of Psychologists of BC. Applicants with all fields of expertise are encouraged to apply, but we are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated ability to teach courses in psychometric assessment, with a specific focus on measures of intellectual and cognitive function, personality, and achievement. The successful applicant will also supervise advanced clinical psychology students in the UBCO Walk-In Service, a practicum provided through the UBCO Psychology Clinic. Clients attend the UBCO Walk-In Service for brief mental health appointments for targeted psychological intervention to address concerns including but not limited to depression, anxiety, substance use, and relationships. While predominantly a teaching and clinical supervision position, lecturers are also expected to participate fully in the affairs of their departments and may fulfill service obligations to the University and community.
