Lecturer: £38,205 to £44,263 per annum with USS benefits

Senior Lecturer: £45,585 to £55,218 per annum with USS benefits

This position will be based at the Bay or Singleton Campus

The Departments of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) deliver internationally excellent and world-leading research in advanced solutions for sustainable resources, processes and materials. The primary emphasis for the appointed postholder will be on achieving research excellence, producing world-leading publications, securing competitive funding, and creating real-world impact. We invite applications from highly enthusiastic candidates with strong research expertise in membranes, coatings and related technologies aligned with the principles of circular and green economies. These candidates should exhibit a specific focus in at least one of the areas of energy, wastewater treatment, agri-food and healthcare. Expertise in organics and thin films could be considered. The ideal candidate will bring know-how and skills complementary to those existing in SEAS to strengthen capacity.  The applicant will have a strong national and international reputation and will successfully establish their independent collaborative research programme. An industry-facing approach focussing on knowledge transfer and innovation will be looked at favourably.

As all our courses are research-led and practice-driven, the successful applicant should be able to bring their background into their teaching to enhance our students’ experience both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
