Position Summary The University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Physics to begin Fall 2023. This is a non-tenure track appointment. The successful candidate will be expected to achieve excellence in teaching and assist in further development of the Department of Natural Sciences which offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in Biology and Chemistry.  UNT Dallas offers faculty the unique opportunity to help shape the character of a 21st century, learner-focused, urban comprehensive university. 
RESPONSIBILITIES: This position is responsible for teaching four (4) courses per semester. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in such service activities as curriculum development, online course development, student recruiting and advising, program assessment, project development, program leadership, and committee leadership. 
Minimum Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters degree in Physics or closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience teaching courses in General Physics, Astronomy, Physics for non-science majors, and the associated laboratory courses.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD in Physics or closely related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability or interest in teaching a variety of courses including Earth Science and Environmental Science
  • Interest or experience in development/delivery of online courses
  • Academic experience working on a university campus with a culturally diverse population
  • Willingness to develop Physics programs related to Biology and Chemistry (e.g. minor in biophysics)
