The Sustainability Research Institute (SRI) in the School of Earth and Environment is looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated environmental social scientist with a focus on business and sustainability.
SRI is an internationally leading centre for research in the environmental social sciences. Our research specialisms include business and organisations for sustainable societies, environment and development, economics and policy for sustainability, energy and climate change mitigation, social and political dimensions of sustainability, and climate change adaptation, vulnerability and services. For this position, we are seeking applicants working on cross-cutting business and organisational issues such as development of sustainable cities, systems resilience, responses to climate change, environmental and disaster risk management, climate and green finance, agriculture and food systems, resource extraction/mining or energy systems.
Issues could be tackled from a variety of perspectives, including organisational change and leadership, innovative business models, circular economy, green/climate finance, project management, multi-stakeholder partnerships and policy analysis.
You will contribute to student education across the Sustainability suite of undergraduate and Masters programmes that focus on business and sustainability. This will include field courses, research dissertations and placement projects.
