Ref: ATS1171

£44,737 to £51,805 per annum, pro rata

The School of Social Work at UEA is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in social work research and teaching, ranking 4th for overall research quality in Social Work and Social Policy in REF 2021.  It is also home to the highly successful Centre for Research on Children and Families.

Our first cohort of Social Work apprentices will be joining the School in January 2023 and we wish to appoint a Lecturer in Social Work to join the teaching team for this exciting new programme.  There will also be opportunities to teach on other UG and MA programmes within the School.

At the University of East Anglia we have an academic career route that focuses on teaching, scholarship and engagement (ATS). The focus of this Lecturer post is on teaching and scholarship. The primary criteria for appointment to this post will therefore be a strong academic record and experience commensurate to a Lecturer in Social Work. We welcome applications from candidates with a range of relevant knowledge and experience but have a preference for a candidate who has an interest in statutory social work with adults or with children and families.

The post is available from 1 March 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter, on a part-time (0.8fte), indefinite basis and will be subject to a basic Disclosure and Barring Service check to be undertaken by the appointee.

Closing date: 9 November 2022

The University is committed to diversifying its workforce. As examples, we already hold an Athena SWAN Silver Institutional Award in recognition of our advancement towards gender equality. We also have a Vice-Chancellor led Taskforce on Tackling Racism and a Race Equality Charter Working Group which support our work on race equality. Our aim is to submit to the Race Equality Charter in 2024.
