Lecturer in Skills and Simulation (Adult Nursing)

Full-time permanent post at Wolverhampton City Campus, Part-time and/or Job Share would be considered. 

We are seeking candidates for the role of lecturer in skills & simulation to support the provision of our undergraduate nursing programmes. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to wider pre and post registration nursing education programmes. Experience of teaching student nurses is essential and candidates with a research profile are welcomed.

We have state-of the-art, newly developed skills centres to offer hands-on teaching of nursing and healthcare professions skills through a comprehensive range of state of the art equipment.

Lecturer in Skills & Simulation – key roles and responsibilities 

  • Support the delivery of the undergraduate nursing curricula
  • Take responsibility for the co-ordination of modules when appropriate to do so and after gaining sufficient relevant experience
  • Work as a member of a team, collaborating on course development and curriculum changes.
    • Contribute to the wider student experience through personal tutoring, excellent classroom teaching and providing support in and outside the classroom
    • The role may require cross-campus working

To be successful in the Skills & Simulation Lecturer role you will

  • Be educated to degree level and will be registered as a Adult nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Have a keen interest in skills & simulation teaching and have experience in supporting clinical skills development
  • Have an understanding of contemporary nursing practice
  • Be willing to undertake a Post Graduate Certificate in Education and a Master’s degree if not already achieved. Have an awareness of teaching and learning methodologies, and demonstrate enthusiasm for innovative teaching and supporting the development of learners.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to fairness, inclusivity and the promotion of equality and diversity
