Lecturer in Persian Language

The Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (formerly the Faculty of Oriental Studies) seeks to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Persian language to commence January 2023.

The Lecturer will teach Persian language and be responsible for the design and development of teaching and elements of courses, as well as undertaking administration and examining when required.

The Lecturer will co-operate with the other language lecturers in Persian and will be a member of the Arabic, Persian and Turkish Subject Group in the Faculty.

You will have completed a first degree in a relevant field and have a native or equivalent command of both Persian and English.

The successful candidate will show experience of teaching Persian as a foreign language in a university or equivalent higher educational institution, and demonstrate a commitment to dynamic and effective language teaching. You will also show the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide range of people, and have the ability to organise your own workload and timetables, and those of groups of students, effectively.

This position is based in central Oxford. It is full time on an 8 month fixed term basis starting January 2023.
