Fixed term (12 months) Part Time Foundation Year Lecturer (0.5 FTE) – Mathematics.

The University is set in the heart of the beautiful, safe and friendly city of Lincoln. The University of Lincoln is a forward-thinking, ambitious and international institution with high aspirations and strong record of widening participation in Higher Education.

The Foundation Studies Centre is based within the College of Science. The Centre’s focus is to provide Foundation Year programmes, in preparation for students to transition onto the major degree programmes offered by the College, within the Schools of Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, Mathematics and Physics, and Pharmacy.

Due to popularity across the courses delivered by the Foundation Studies Centre, we are seeking talented mathematicians with the ability to contribute to the teaching of relevant elements within the science foundation year. An expectation is that you will have a collegiate approach enabling you to work with staff across the different subject disciplines within the Centre and the College and have the ambition to succeed in an exciting, thriving and supportive atmosphere.

The successful applicant will report to the Director of Foundation Year Studies, Kerry Blagden, who is herself an experienced transition support practitioner, with extensive experience in the secondary and HE sectors. Please contact Kerry Blagden within the College of Science by email on kblagden@lincoln.ac.uk for an informal conversation about this opportunity.

As an institutional Athena SWAN Bronze Award holder we are committed to advancing gender equality in STEM, therefore female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

The post is being made available to internal candidates only in support of our commitment to developing staff by providing opportunities for internal movement and promotion. Therefore, we actively encourage applications from all staff across the University with the relevant skills and experience.

Further details:

We strive for a diverse workforce with the very best employees and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all.
