Lecturer in Fine Arts

The Department of Fine Arts at Brandeis University is seeking an in-person Lecturer to teach contemporary architectural history and/or urbanism during the Spring 2023 semester (roughly Jan. 17-May 16). The course (FA 187A) trains students to conduct architectural and urban analysis of the built environment through a comparative case-study approach based on selected readings, real spaces and creative projects.

About the opportunity:

The Lecturer will teach FA 187A. Some flexibility is possible with the course design and teaching block.

Qualification-Education/Experience

Applicants must be PhD candidates or PhDs in Architectural History or demonstrate equivalent expertise. University-level teaching experience is preferred.

Submission Guidelines:

Candidates must submit a letter of interest (2 pages maximum), curriculum vitae, one-page teaching statement, sample syllabus for contemporary architecture/urbanism course and contact information for three references.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
