About the Role
The position of Lecturer will make effective contributions to teaching and learning, research and research training, engagement and leadership and service within the Educational Leadership Group at the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. The position includes responsibility for teaching within the MGSE educational leadership courses, including subject development and coordination, as required. Researching, publishing and service in the educational leadership area are important components of this role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the preparation and delivery of a range of educational leadership subjects offered by the Educational Leadership Group at MGSE
  • Engage in scholarly research initiatives and collaborations within the Educational Leadership Group at MGSE
  • Continuing to develop your research, publications, collaborations and conference presentations in educational leadership
  • Provide leadership and service to the profession in educational leadership

About You
You are an experienced lecturer, able to provide both quality teaching and subject construction at a post-graduate level. Your excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills enable you to interact productively with staff and students. You will have a doctorate in educational leadership or a closely related area, and you will have begun to establish yourself through publications and conference presentations as an international scholar in educational leadership. You will have experience in, or familiarity with, Australian school education. You will have demonstrated experience and skills required to contribute to the various activities and administration of the education leadership programs. You are committed to service of the education profession, with special interest and expertise in educational leadership

You will also have:

  • A doctoral degree completed, or close to completion, in educational leadership, or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of contemporary theoretical and policy debates and practice within educational leadership
  • Capacity to conduct research in educational leadership, publish appropriately and apply for internal or external research grants
