About the Position
Since the quality of the student experience forms the cornerstone of the program, the ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated record of teaching excellence, as well as a commitment to teaching and learning innovation.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with other members of the First Year and SoPD teams to contribute to a supportive atmosphere. The successful candidate will develop courses and course materials, teach First Year Engineering courses, and take part in the administration of the First Year program (including course coordination, software management, program evaluation, TA/RA supervision, and team coordination).
The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Engineering, as well as an advanced degree in a relevant field, and ideally be registered as a professional engineer in Canada. If not currently a PEng, the candidate must be eligible to register as a Professional Engineer in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. We are seeking a candidate who demonstrates the following:
• experience teaching in a post-secondary environment;
• clear evidence of strong teaching and communication skills;
• experience teaching junior courses such as mechanics, design, drawing & sketching, CAD, computer programming, electrical circuits, professional ethics, and process engineering.
• an ability to work effectively in a collaborating team.
Preference will be given to the candidate who has experience with course and curriculum development, inclusion of Indigenous perspectives, coordinating and running labs, teaching enhancement software systems such as Canvas, Crowdmark and Mobius, active learning techniques, and with competency-based assessment.
The 2022-23 salary band for a Lecturer is $83,150 to $123,458. The 2022-23 salary band can be found here.
