Lecturer (Education Focused)

• Full time, fixed term until June 2025

• Support the Sydney Dental Schools new Indigenous dental assistants’ program

• Base Salary $113,184 + 17% superannuation

The Sydney Dental School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Education Focused).

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• support the University’s Indigenous strategy to develop our staff and students’ cultural safety and competency and to build the capacity of the FMH First Nations’ Staff Network

• support the SDS new Indigenous dental assistants program project, commencing in July 2022. 3. To develop and grow the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in the following programs: DA Certificate III, Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) and the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)

About you

• you will have a relevant degree or equivalent qualifications and experience

• identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander

• you will have evidence of strong links and respect within the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities   

• you will enjoy visiting rural and remote areas and working with schools, Aboriginal Medical Services and local communities

• you will provide mentoring and pastural support to students attending placements in the Sydney local area during block placements

• previous experience in Aboriginal health is highly desirable but not essential
