Department Summary Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
The Department of World Languages, Literatures and Cultures offers majors in French, German, and Japanese as well as professional certification in French. The professional certification is useful for careers in travel and tourism, law enforcement, the medical profession and business. Minors in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Latin are also available.
Representing many world languages, literatures, and cultures, our dedicated faculty promote excellence in research, teaching and professional service. Position Summary The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of North Texas is seeking a full-time Lecturer in ASL to begin Fall 2023. The position of Lecturer comes with full benefits. Duties: Teach four undergraduate courses (beginning through intermediate levels) in ASL per semester. Active participation in course coordination, departmental activities and committees are expected.

Minimum Qualifications Master’s Degree in ASL or ASL-related field (Interpretation, Deaf Education, Deaf Studies, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of excellence in teaching.
  • Experience with program coordination/supervision.
  • Evidence of service commitment to department and program.
  • Experience facilitating student activities.
